Very often, strategies are designed by management with the expectation that every function including the middle managers fully understand and buy into. Unfortunately, this is often not the case, strategies get misunderstood through the walls of functions with silo mentality like Chinese whispers. With clearer "line of sight" middle managers can make better sense of what the strategies mean to their day to day tasks.
It is therefore crucial that all impacted & inter-related stakeholders come together with an aim to have a meeting of minds to design a coherent and effective strategic plan with a stronger sense of ownership, turning knowing into owning and action. In this way, we know what each team can be counted on and we see the impact we bear on others.
We facilitate this through carefully designed large group events, which both crosses functions and management layers. During these sessions we encourage authentic & mutually respectful interactions. We brainstorm, open up authentic dialogue, challenge and co-create a plan that members are committed to. The end goal is a change plan that is based on the strengths of the collective and one that inspires people into action.
